What's Happening in the Spring & Summer of 2022

Welcome!

July is Lavender Month

I am writing this with a very heavy heart. We've kept our fingers, eyes, legs, arms and toes crossed that our lavender was just really late coming out of dormancy for the season sadly, that is not the case. Out of over 3,500 lavender plants we have lost close to 90% - all varieties, through out the entire farm. It can happen of course, lavender is fickle and hates wet feet.  I think that is what got ours - we’ve had several wet seasons in a row and despite drainage, soil type or cultivar it just didn’t make it. We have replaced it several times over the years and you always lose a few but site wide is a real gut punch. After two years of Covid we can’t afford to replace it and we don’t have the staff even if we could. All that said, we have chosen to cancel a few of our classes and the photography sessions. We are heartsick we have to do this, as we love sharing the farm with you.

Our Fields are open for U-Pick until the blooms fade (typically through September)but this season all 9 varieties bloomed almost at the same time and a little earlier than normal.

We will have several fun interactive or hands on class using lavender.
Space limited, please sign up and get your spot early.

Lavender U-Pick  -
Cancelled due to crop failure.                           Very Limited if it would transpire

Over 9 varieties to choose from. Each bloom at different intervals over the growing season, so you can pick almost all summer long! We offer a wide variety of lavenders, from the most fragrant to ones used in cooking. Have fun and discover the many types of lavender and their uses. Lavender is $10 per bunch. You are welcome to purchase as many bunches as you would like. We will supply you with a pre-measured tie and you can expect to fit 20-30 stems in the tie.

You are welcome to arrive at anytime during our u-pick hours Monday through Friday 9 am till 2 pm and Saturdays 9 am till Noon. Field closes at 2 pm during weekdays and 11 am on Saturdays – no exceptions. You are welcome to meander the grounds and enjoy the farm.
Please bring your own clippers, we do have a few to loan but in case ours are in use it might be best to bring a pair along. We will show you a brief video on how to cut the lavender stems and will be available in case you need help.

Precautions:
Bees and insects love lavender. Please, if you have any issues with bee stings, take the proper precautions. Bees really don’t want to sting you and most won’t but to be safe please be prepared to take necessary steps to ensure your safety.
Best to bring some water, sunscreen and a hat.
We love people to stroll about the farm and enjoy the ponds and grounds. Please, don’t hop in for a swim.
Children must be supervised at all times.
We are observing COVID 19 regulations - please maintain social distancing and wear mask if you are inside the gift shop. We have hand sanitizer for your convenience.
